The Texas Deaths Are Trumps Fault

Lately in central Texas there have been massive amounts of flash flooding resulting in roughly 90 deaths and many more people missing.

If you’re questioning the title saying, “but it was a flash flood,” I have news for you. We are actually able to predict flash floods; not in as much advance as most storms, but we still get a little bit of warning beforehand. This is thanks to two different national services:

National Weather Service: This one is pretty self-explanitory, but the National Weather Service is a US government agency that reports on weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings.

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration): This is a regulatory agency that monitors and predicts changes in weather, oceanic activity, what happens on our coasts, and climate changes.

Unfortunately, this administration (Donald J. Trump) has decided to defund these organizations. So due to these changes and decisions, Texans were not able to get any type of warning before hand. That could have saved MANY lives, most of which being children who had no say in this decision.

A specific example of children who died were the campers and counselors at Camp Mystic (tagging an article that dives deeper into that if you’re interested).
